Poem the ANSA

As far as m concerned there are tree thing a person can truly and unconditionally love, that's "poetry, weed and fun"m as simple as that. And my poetry is also simple, I try to avoid deep poetic ways of writing, less metaphors, similes and other nice staff, just simple and fun.

Tell us about you and how you would you describe your poetry?

Where are you based?
In my base, Africa.

How long have you been making poetry and how did you get started?
My mum introduced me to poetry when I was very young and she orientated me toward it, I don't know how I stated but my first performance was at a kgotla meeting when a minister visited our village I was representing our school, and I was 10..

Do you come from an artistic background?
I think so, my mum was a musician, she had an ear for good music and poetry she was a choir master at some point, and throughout my primary school I sang in every year at some point I was singing for three school choirs (inter, senior and boys choir). In the mean time I also grew up doing a lot of visual arts, drawing, painting, sculpting etc. which landed me in the design profession

What inspires you? What are your influences (Who or What)
Number 1 my mum, secondly African history and the journey of the black man through time, how he rose from nothing to giving the world a civilization that would be the foundation of any human advancement, and how he fell from that grace due to attack by nature and other races and still survive to tell his-story to the modern world.

What is your most proud accomplishment so far?
Working for myself.

What are your tools for creating?
Pen, pencil and colors (crayons)

What sets you apart from the others?
My hair... I guess...

Where are you trying to end up? (5 year plan?)
Looking forward to early retirement from professional life (if ever is possible in 5 years why not) to art and writing.

What are your favorite things in life so far?
Poetry, women and weed.

If we gave you P1M what would you do with it?
Build my dream house and publish my book. And with the change, you don't want to know LOL tree words, Poetry, Fun, Weed.

Any advice for people trying to do what you do?
I would say, don't try to do what I do, the fact that you think what I do is worth it means you have the potential to do better, so do you and relax and have fun while you are doing it.

Where can people buy/get a hold of your work?
My poetry is all over most poetry events in gabs m there, but a good place to start would be to visit my FB page (poemtheansa) or my blog (?oem the ANSA) where I post poems on the regular. You are also welcome to visit my design studio in Molapo Crossing Shopping Mall office no. 38b for design work. Otherwise look out for my book (Smoking Poetry) which is coming as soon as I get my P1M from you guys LOL.

How can people get in touch with you?

THOUGHTS

Switch Off

This Hollywood Chihuahua is Bangkok dangerous
Like Mariah I got Carried away put in a Lockout
And throw the Alicia Keys away always
Fighting Temptations always sinking into the deep blue sea

Smell the air

Don't work, make things happen
Don't just ask, learn
Don't sit, just relax
Don't lust, love the max

Do not scream in my dream

Do not configure my theme
Do not get lost in my sleep
Do not readjust my scene
Do not suggest my going
