Faith, why you always running?

It's always really weird to try and describe it. I always say it's "full of nostalgia for a place you've never been". Really it's just full of that nervousness of having a lot of feelings about something but not wanting to say anything. In case you lose. Does that make sense?

Tell us about you and how you would you describe your "art"?
It's always really weird to try and describe it. I always say it's "full of nostalgia for a place you've never been". Really it's just full of that nervousness of having a lot of feelings about something but not wanting to say anything. In case you lose. Does that make sense?

Where are you based?
Cape Town usually but Sydney at the moment.

How long have you been making "art" and how did you get started?
Difficult question. I started playing piano in primary school and got more involved in ensemble music in high school. But really.

Do you come from an artistic background?
I don't know. Do you mean are my folks artists/artistic? To a degree, I suppose. But I think most things are art. Aren't good lawyers are just courtroom performers? (My folks aren't lawyers...)

What inspires you? What are your influences (Who or What)?
What inspires me? Is it a cop out if I say everything? I just write about my life. Break ups, unemployment, not feeling like an adult. Everything. Musically, I'm really into the self starter vibes of 90s grrrl riot bands, punk bands and bedroom djs. Just that "fuck it, let's do it" attitude. Sound wise, I don't know. I listen to a lot of dark, synthy stuff from all over the world (thanks soundcloud!), that's definitely made it's way into my music. Not on purpose, but if I like something, I'm probably gonna wanna do it.

What is your most proud accomplishment so far?
Just having people like my music is awesome. That people actually enjoy the stuff I make blows my mind. It's the greatest feeling ever.

What are your tools for creating?
Live: guitars, pedals, amps, etc. Sometimes a sampler for drums, ambiance, fuller sound. Recorded: guitars, synths (hardware and software) and sequencers (Ableton, Cubase and the like)

What sets you apart from the others?
Nothing. I'm just like everyone else. Just trying to explain what goes on in my head. Most of what I write about is common experiences. Feelings and stuff.

Where are you trying to end up? (5 year plan?)
I have no idea. I would like to be a little bit of a grown up by then. Have a decent job and all those things. But also still doing this, making music. Beyond that, I don't know.

What are your favorite things in life so far?
People. I love people, and their oddness. But if we're talking about things in the strictest sense; I really like my tech, my guitars and all my musical toys. And the internet.

If we gave you P1M what would you do with it?
Honestly, I'd probably buy a few toys (guitars, pedals, synths, etc) and get myself some time in a "proper" studio. I'd like to think that I'd do something useful with the change. Useful for society I mean. Yeah.

Any advice for people trying to do what you do?
I don't know. I'm still trying to figure it all out. Mostly "just try". Give it a go. Cheesy, but if you never try you'll never win.

Where can people buy/get a hold of your work?
