TooMz

The art is life. Rap music is a canvas. I express ideas and notions through the use of dope instrumentals and syncopated speech.

Tell us about you and how you would you describe your "art"?
The art is life. Rap music is a canvas. I express ideas and notions through the use of dope instrumentals and syncopated speech.

Where are you based?
Melbourne, Australia

How long have you been making "art" and how did you get started?
I started writing songs 3 years ago but even in secondary school I had a love for the art of improvised rhyming (freestyling). I used to do it with friends for fun since 1999.

Do you come from an artistic background?
I do not come from an artistic background. I was always surrounded by music because of how much my mom loved jazz, 70s funk and rnb. She's a chemist and my dad is a lawyer. That's about as artsy as it got on the home front.

What inspires you? What are your influences (Who or What)?
I am inspired by my love of rap music (not the industry but the art form). I also draw a lot of inspiration from the love I have for my family.

What is your most proud accomplishment so far?
My proudest accomplishment so far has been making friends who share my passion.

What are your tools for creating?
When I'm not at a pro studio, I've got my home studio setup; Shure SM57 Condenser Microphone, Microphone Stand, Reflection Filter, Ableton Live 9 and my laptop.

What sets you apart from the others?
I am me.

Where are you trying to end up? (5 year plan?)
My 5 year plan is to see more of the world with my crew.

What are your favorite things in life so far?
Boobs, Oreos, Every GTA game ever, One Piece, Comic books and Boobs.

If we gave you P1M what would you do with it?
Buy my mom a house and get some bigger speakers for my home studio.

Any advice for people trying to do what you do?
Just do it.

Where can people buy/get a hold of your work?
As far as buying goes you can find a couple of my single's on everything that pays digital distribution-wise so; iTunes, Amazon, Spotify LastFM, Simfy etc. My manager assures me that they're available everywhere. All my other stuff can be streamed and/or downloaded from your usual places like YouTube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Facebook and so on.

How can people get in touch with you?
Phone, e-mail, twitter (meh), facebook and smoke signals… [Google is your ally].

Any thanks or shout outs?
Shout out to my homie John T.
